VENDOR AGREEMENT

When you first register with the DISTRO CLUB for your bookstore, you will need to submit an online form that includes information about yourself as a photographer, the name of your bookstore and a description of the type of work you produce.

After your bookstore has been approved and you are ready to start entering your publications for sale, please take these guidelines into account:

  • You may submit as many photo-zines, photo-books or photographic posters as you wish and each will be displayed in both your storefront and on the COLLECTIVE CATALOGUE separately. To do this, you must use the ‘Add Product’ form, accessible from your personal dashboard.
  • For each book submitted, fill in the relevant fields in the Add Product form, which include:
  • Title of book
  • Short description (up to 30 words)
  • Long description: to contain information about your inspiration, theme, background to the concept, etc.
  • A still image to represent the cover of your publication.
  • A minimum of 4, maximum of 12 in high-resolution images that showcase the content of your publication.
  • Check the categories that represent the type and genre of your publication, along with as many of the other descriptive metadata as is appropriate to your work, i.e. paper weight and type, binding and cover type, etc.
  • You may add new or select existing “tags” that can be used to search for your work
  • The DISTRO CLUB acts as an intermediary between Vendors and Buyers at the point of sale. Each Vendor has their own store in the DISTRO CLUB, with it’s own URL. Vendors are encouraged to share their store URL via their own websites and social media channels. A visitor to a store URL will see the collection of publications contained within that Vendor’s store, However, as the store is also part of the COLLECTIVE CATALOGUE, a visitor will also be able to branch out and view other publishers’ work if they so desire.
  • When a book is sold, it is the Vendor’s responsibility to pack and ship the item in the most cost-effective way. Buyers have the right to return a publication within 2 weeks. If a return is not requested within that time, the artist will be paid the advertised price of the book less 10% commission (used to help support the DISTRO CLUB PLATFORM) together with the cost of credit card transactions (typically 1.5% of the purchase price plus a 20p flat fee per transaction) levied by STRIPE the company chosen by the DISTRO CLUB to handle all financial transactions.
  • A buyer may request to return the book if it is substantially different from the presentation in the DISTRO CLUB, or if it is damaged. Requested returns will be mediated through the DITRO CLUB, whose decision will be final.
  • All publications should be fully insured against loss or damage during transit.
  • Publications that arrive with the buyer in a damaged state will be accepted as free returns and the buyer compensated in full. If the damage is as because of poor packaging, the Vendor will be asked to pay for the transport costs involved. The publication will be returned to the Vendor for use in evidence supporting any claims that they may make to their shipping company.
  • Books will be shown for sale at a price of the vendors choosing.
  • Postage and packaging costs will be added to each book at point of sale and are not subject to the DISTRO CLUB commission structure.
